Holy shit!

on Saturday, July 25th, 2015

The sky looks like god has some holes in his panties. A beam of light touches our freshly written press note. Holy shit! – the golden era of public relations has begun. Read and wonder!

What we do in the shadows.

on Wednesday, July 22nd, 2015

A part of our team is on screening tour to sow the seeds of our festival. The movies are chosen with the necessecary perfidious mindset. And indeed, everything is going according to plan: Images become flesh, ember, honey, – melt down our walls, leading us back into the garden we hardly remember. So beware the ides of july, Húsavík, Akureyri, Hjalteyri, ísafjörður, Reykjavík, Reykholt!

Very »Weird games«.

on Sunday, June 28th, 2015

We are at the »Weird games« in Hólmavík: Maybe we are witnessing the strangest high-performance sports of the universe. For sure it´s a lesson in matter of beauty, grace and poetry.

Oh Happy Days!

on Sunday, June 28th, 2015

The Weather God is smirking like the Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland, everyone is wearing T-shirt, children are playing in the sun and their parents, well, they do what parents have to do – but they do it with a smile. We are in the middle of the „Happy Days”, a yearly town fair and Hólmavík is captured in a cloud of dopamine.

We have our first movie screening in a former military building in the center of the town and let´s be honest here: We are little bit nervous. We prayed for rain. Actually we danced for rain. And yes, we sacrificed some very expensive animals. Is anybody crazy enough to watch a movie on a day like this? … Good Lord, there are people coming. Real people!

Can you feel the love tonight?

on Friday, June 19th, 2015

Paper rushles pleasently through our fingers. The delicious flavor of fresh print products is filling the air. We are unpacking our new promo material and bathing in it. Nobody is talking. It´s a sacred act. A ritual older than you and me.

smells like a pound of bullshit.

on Monday, April 20th, 2015

We are under a highway bridge in düsseldorf. A cold wind is blowing in our faces – soup, alcohol und Harmony Korine’s „Gummo“ is warming us from the inside. The movie is full of redneck poetry and a hymn on beauty under adverse conditions. Read a piece of the dialogue and you will feel its warmth too:

Kid 1: This shitty-ass rabbit stinks.
Kid 2: I Know.
Kid 1: He smells like pussy. he smells like an asshole.
Kid 2: Hey Motherfucker.
Kid 1: Smells like a wetback dick.
Kid 2: Smells like a pound of bullshit.

Stuff we will never understand.

on Friday, April 10th, 2015

From now on we are equipped with two magical cinema boxes. These standalone rigs contain stuff most of us will never understand. But we are now able to show movies on the moon, in the middle of the sun or even in iceland.

The kir royal bar in the old town of düsseldorf. The air is filled with a mixture of laughs, sexual tension and the pleasant perfume of cold cigarettes. What is happening here? Well, we are screening wenzel storch’s “Die Reise ins Glück” (“The Journey to Happiness“). A movie full of crazyness. And truths. And crazyness.
